106498: Did you notice that in Flsynclient left button is disabled. You need to activate it also. Just moving tapping time to about 200 is not enough to activate tap to click. on tapping section > One finger, select left button

About flasplayer semiautomatic download. It was Barrys zzz_scripts_simple_bk-20101227.pet which he used for wary 5 and was included to Insidious 002. Delayedrun in it handles the latest flashplayer download straight from adobe download site. And it works for me.

If it give you failing and you were connected to the net when the download message comes, you can check if you have /var/local/internetsuccess file. If you have, you can delete it and restart X. You should get flashplayer download message again when you start firefox.

I fix the repo packages files. I didnt check in which condition the Packages-* files were.

I reuploaded Insidious 002. I added to /etc/modprobe.d KMS settings for intel, nouveau and radeon. I also recompiled kernel 2.6.35.7 in Insidious. Probably wasnt necessary. I added working Packages-* for sid packages and also added Iguleders packages-puppy-sid-official in it.
Minor things only. Iso is now smaller: 167 Mb > 159 Mb. None of the previous apps is removed.

Does Insidious 002 have the RFKILL that Fluppy and Snowy has which most likely is whey they boot so reliably on my Acer?

Insidious 001 booted many many times and then suddenly failed so I am using Snowy now and have Fluppy as a reserve should I also make use of Insidious 002?

Kind of confusing to shift between three OS all the time. Smile

Insidious 002 has rfkill enabled in kernel. Just like in Fluppy and Snow Puppy. Rfkill is mainly useful for shutting wireless, like for saving battery or going to airplane. I dont believe it makes distro any hardware friendly. Rfkill has been enabled also in most Iguleders builds.

I read that into Jemimah's comment on another thread but I could have misunderstood her.

She did answer what is different and she made a correct answer it is one of the way it is different.

But as you say here now it is not direct evidence for why Fluppy just works and why your Snowy also works and works and why Insidious 001 is number third in reliability having failed only once and the other two never and have booted for weeks using Fluppy.

So would be cool to know exactly what it is.

Re this download I want to do now !

on Smokey or what. What is the link? I used search but that one showed only I re-uploaded Insidious 001 instead of I Insidious 002.

Yes I test it again! Thanks

I use 002 now. Managed to get 1024x768 as I wanted.

How is this one different from Snowy? Why use this one and not your Snowy?

In case it never fail to boot? then I have three to chose among. What luxury Smile

Now I know why I did skip it.

Like many other versions when one have two screens. The 10" too small so I use a 15? or 17" screen and USB mouse and USB Keybord and the Netbook is more like a desktop.

Anyway here is what is happening. 1024x768 but show only 1024x600 on pictures.

Which is very annoying if one expect it to just work as it does on Fluppy.

I don't remember how it is for Snowy I log out and test that one again.

Edit

The difference between Inpu-002 and Snowy is that Snowy show F11 full screen as really full screen while Inpu show only 1024x600 when using the picture viewer. Both are set up to have 1024x768.

So that is why I did stop using 002.

Sounds great but I absolutely need the 3g wireless modem packages so I've been using Lupu 5.11 which agrees with my Verison (novatel 760 modem).

Does Insidious have those packages?

Tks Question

wvdial-1.53-3.pet is what is included with Insidious 002. It is from 27.12.2010 woof. Also there is those zzz_scripts_simple_bk-20101227.pet which seems to have some 3g specific scripts by Barry Kauler and probably by rerwin, who is the main architect of 3g workability in puppies.

Other than that, only way to check if Insidious 002 works with your 3g is that you test it and report how it went.

Cheers.

Hey guys, today I bought www.iguleder.info and I'm currently moving all my Puppy stuff there. I'm also recompiling my 2.6.36.2, this time I want the kernel PET to have more drivers and put ndiswrapper/modem drivers/sysprof into the PET as Barry does.

Mouse works with this kernel and all problems with previous kernels are gone.
