How to use Canon MP620 printer in Puppy 5.1? |
|
Hi I am trying to get my printer working with Puppy 5.1
I have a Canon MP620, the cups setup seems to see it
and says it is on line. But nothing happens if I try and print.
In the set up where there is a drop down to select your printer
the MP620 is not there, the 610 and 700 are, I have tried both
with out any luck.
Thank you for any help
Glenn

The most recent discussion about MP620's is here. Patriot's MP610 driver is here. If you don't need network printing for now, skip Step #2.

Thank you for your fast reply.
I will try and figure out how to use the info in
your reply posts.
I am not quite sure how to install patches
and other software.
I will try and get back.
Thanks
Glenn

Still trying to install Canon MP620 |
|
I have been able to get the scanner part of the printer working and very nicely, but still no luck on the printer.
It looks like it is very difficult, I have seen it is also a problem on Ubuntu.
Thanks
Glenn

Could anyone tell me how to disable or just open the
ports that are to be opened for this to work.
Thanks

Do you have the printer directly connected by USB or are you trying to set up network printing? It will be easier if you use USB first.

I am still trying, I am going to reinstall Puppy, because
maybe I have everything in the wrong order now.
Thank you
