MultiPup CD/DVD/USB Creator
Hi puppyluvr,
I experimented and as a test linked the Linux portable applications DoxBox and Gnote into your pet and sfs sections respectively and they worked perfectly in Lupu 5.2 (which was the only iso I linked to try this test) This is likely to mean extra single-file packages could be used in multiple Puppies.
There may be more ways to use your existing extra folders or possibly even add a new "general" or "portable" folder (or whatever).
My regards
With Lupu 5.2 I could have used the archive-folder-system to achieve the same result, but I have no idea which other Puppies have that innovative feature.

MultiPup-3.3.pet
Installed and run/tested within Lupu-520.
SUCCESS!
1. Installed OK using the pet file downloaded to my /00 folder and "Open" from there.
It created a new item in "Menu->Utility->General Utilities".
2. Choosing install location:
Need a folder icon/button so as to be able to browse/choose the install location.
Copied and pasted the address = /mnt/home [ext3 partition] and OK'd it.
MultiPup installed OK; folder/file system was created.
3. Instructions understood; they're good.
4. Closed initial MultiPup setup window, and restarted MultiPup using the menu item.
5.
(a) Clicked the button to link ISO's.
(b) Clicked tab = "series 3, 4, and 5", then clicked the optical disk button.
Dialog & ISO's folder appeared.
Used Xfe to symlink chosen Puppy ISO's to /mnt/home/MultiPup/isos folder.
Clicked OK on the dialog whilst the ISO symlinks were showing in their folder.
(c) Activities were displayed; ISO's being dealt with & dismounted.
This finished and I clicked the OK button.
6. Closed the original linking dialog.
7. Didn't link any other items such as PET's or SFS's.
8. Chose bootsplash [after clicking the button].
9. Checked ISO size [542MB].
10. Clicked to "Create your ISO"->Yes->OK.
ISO was created in "dvdsource" folder->OK.
11. Moved ISO & index files to other handy storage location on external HDD.
12. EXIT MultiPup.
13. Burned the MultiPup ISO image file to a blank CD-RW.
14. Booted the MultiPup-3.3 CD.
It worked just as expected. [perfectly]

"For the timeout, (default 50 sec)...
The "virgin" master menu.lst file is @:
/MultiPup/boot/grub/menu.lst"
Oops, sorry, didn't make myself clear.
What I meant was the 15 second default timeout at the 2nd boot window, with "Use pupsave" as the default choice.
I normally reset that from 15 to 5 seconds in the /mnt/home/MultiPup/Multipup file, but I cannot find that setting in the new version of the file.

Hi
@ Sylvander
Go inside of the MultiPup directory, and open up the following scripts in a text editor:
and change them to look like this:
That will at least sort out the Puppy versions,
but i don't know (as yet) what to change for the Aliens.
Hope this helps

FAILURE!
1. Made the changes you suggested above, but the resulting MultiPup CD-RW appeared to have NO TIMEOUT at the 2nd window where the default was "Use Savefile".
I waited a long time without any sign of boot proceeding, then hit <Enter> and it proceeded normally.
2. Checked the changes after all was completed, and they are still there in /mnt/home/MultiPup/41ISOs and /mnt/home/MultiPup/42ISOs.

Hello Mate
as it is working for me here. (see pics)
As you can see, in screen-1 it still has the 60 second timeout,
and in screen-2 it has a timeout of 15 seconds
I wouldn't have thought it makes any difference, but i did not install the .pet,
i opened it up and moved the: Multipup-3.3/root/my-roxapps/Multipup/MultiPup
into /mnt/home

1. "I wouldn't have thought it makes any difference, but i did not install the .pet"
Aha!
I DID install the PET.
I notice there's another [original copy of the MuliPup] folder system under /root/my-roxapps/Multipup/MultiPup.
There are files:
41ISOs
42ISO's
In that folder, and these are the original versions, and remain unchanged.
Should these be altered do you think?
2. The above is in addition to the folder system under /mnt/home/MultiPup.

Hi
From what i understand, you installed the .pet
then ran MultiPup from the menu: Utility > MultiPup CD/DVD Creator
this then brings up the MultiPup Installer from which you selected to install to /mnt/home
If the above is correct,
then when you now go to the menu: Utility > MultiPup CD/DVD Creator
that should be running the MultiPup that is in /mnt/home.
That means you only need to edit the three scripts inside of that copy of MultiPup.
I have attached an archive containing the three edited scripts below (with a timeout of 5 seconds),
simply unpack it and copy the three scripts into the directory: /mnt/home/MultiPup
which will overwrite the originals (which you can always get a copy of from inside of: /root/my-roxapps/Multipup/MultiPup)
It should work for you, as i have just installed the .pet myself (and installed to /mnt/home)
then i made a quick ISO image and the second screen has the timeout indicator showing.

SUCCESS!
1. "That means you only need to edit the three scripts inside of that copy of MultiPup"
(a) Big blushes here!
Somehow [due to mind blindness?] I FAILED to mentally register your listing of the Multipup executable file.
Hence I FAILED to modify it.
(b) That has now been done [didn't need to use your .tar.gz file], and the MultiPup is working as it aught.
2. Would it be a good idea to swap in you 3 files to the /root/my-roxapps/Multipup/MultiPup folder to replace the originals?

Hello,
CatDude,
Thank you again for all your help, suggestions, and answering questions.
Only if you intend to move MultiPup and reinstall it thru the GUI in /root/my-roxapps/Multipup....
The changes, alone with a few others, will be in the next pet anyhow...
Sorry I missed that part during upgrading it...Copy and Paste error....
Never even thought about the 2nd timeout, but set the first at 50 to give some reading time...
So, other than the timeout issue, any problems or suggestions???

"So, other than the timeout issue, any problems or suggestions???"
Hmmm, no problems, but perhaps a couple of small tweaks to perfect it.
1. When booting the MultiPup optical disk...
It might not be obvious to an inexperienced user...
What's going on and what they aught to do.
e.g. I still don't know what are the significances of the "Normal boot" and "Run in ram".
Explanation to the user would be nice, or an "explanation" link beside each option.
Also, the screens don't explain that the user needs to make a choice, or else...
2. During the making of the MultiPup ISO file and index...
At the point AFTER the symlinks have been made, and OK clicked...
I'm rather confused what is going on when the series of windows open, and each ISO file is auto-dismounted.
I'm being told to dismount the ISO file, but I actually do NOTHING, and that seems to produce the required result.
This seems confusing and untidy.
I aught to be told to do nothing and just watch as it does [explanation would be nice] whatever it's doing.

MultiPup CD/DVD Creator
Hi All
Have created 2 Multipup3.3 dvd-rw’s and 1 cd-rw burned with burniso2cd
The first dvd 4.0gb 16 pups/puplets 1 Alien (16 pets + 1screen shot + 1 pdf) + 1 sfs.
Booted all pup/puplets in ram and worked with the exception of one as
expected. GreatDane is 522mb, I have 512ram.
Mounted my 511 save file just fine.
The alien Slax-612 tried to boot but failed with a message of (this should never happen) maybe just my hardware? If you need to know more about the message just ask.
No 4.2x or 4.3x pups would allow the dvd drive to open
The second dvd 3.9gb 23 pups/puplets 1 alien 8 pets + 1 sfs.
Booted all pups/puplets in ram and all seemed to run as expected, except
Dragonpup (Witch I also miss spelled when renaming ) message (tty job control turn off)
again maybe a hardware thing.
The alien Feather seemed to boot and run fine.
Cd-rw Multipup3.3 6.70mb, pup, 2 puplets ,1 alien + 3 pets + 1 sf
all worked as expected.
In other words works for me
Thanks to each and every developer of the distros represented in the screen shots that follow.
You are truly a credit to the linux community!
As for Multipup, another testament to the creativity, talent and versatility of a community that we have all come to know and love as puppy linux!
Thanks to All!

Hello,
Ahh, thats what I like to hear...
@Bob, remember, without the "I wish there was a a way"...
There would not be....
Puppy/Linux is an interactive thing..
Most things come from a "how can I??"
MultiPup, like Linux itself, is a "user driven" thing...
I aint no coder....MultiPup is a collection of simple scripts. (probably) poorly linked together, and who`s results could be achieved easier thru C...
But each one is an answer to a need, and together they achieve a purpose...
I`m happy as hell....
Be back...
Jay.....

Hello,
@Lookinglass360,
Bob, I could use a little detail on Dragonpup...
I`d like to know its base...
We`ve had issues with 2.16 and 2.17 before,
ie "tty job control turn off"...
So let me know....

Hello Jay
DragonPuppy-2-Junior.iso is based on Puppy-3.00
I just put together a quick ISO including the above, and tested it in QEMU and on a DELL Latitude D505,
in both instances i had no problems at all.

Multiple Puppies+Multiple Pets?
Good day All!
Thanks CatDude
Just made a cd-rw that included Dragonpup using the same files and it works fine.
I will make another dvd-rw just to see how it goes.
Added SliTaz to this one also booted fine, however I must hunt down the password before I can have a look at it
I,ll let you know how it goes
Bob
Edit;
Recreated the iso image and burned 3.9gb dvd-rw and once again, "can't access tty; job control turnrd off "?
