lexmark x5650 printer or paperweight

I am making an honest effort to replace windoze altogether with Puppy, but a lot of everyday computing needs keep getting in the way.

Like the fact I need a printer and one I don't have to switch OS's to print a page with.

I have a Lexmark Z5650 and am running Lucid Puppy (5.1).

CUPS ignores it completely.

Lexmark has a Linux driver for it on their support site. The deb.sh file (which IS compatible with Fedora and Ubantu) will open up and play like it's going to run, however when it gets to extracting the files to install it encounters an error. (doesn't say which error, just install failed in pop up)

Can anyone please advise me on this. I have combed the forms, but can't seem to find the correct answer for this problem.

Read here. It is right above your post. It contains some links to Lexmark drivers.

Thanks to rcrsn51 my Lexmark x5650 is now a printer instead of a paperweight. If you have the same issue go here for the driver.

Thanks again rcrsn51!
