Yes!!!... as the subject says!!!...

The machine details are Dell Inspiron 7000, P2 300MHz, 192MB RAM, 512 MB swap partition on HDD.

Lin'N'Win dual boot frugal install (Win98, Lupu 520).

Very fast, considering the age of the machine -- boots Lupu faster than Win98... (my experience with 4.3.1 is that it seems to be slower and more memory intensive than Win98).

I will be trying this on a Compaq 333MHz next.

Have you tried 4.3.1 with that Dell box, or are you just referring to 4.3.1 in general?

Wow! As I've mentioned on other threads, Lupu 520 is unusably slow on my Intel Celeron 600MHz 256MB desktop. The only clue that I have is that the cpu idle is around 50% when it should be more than 90%, but whatever is using the cpu does not appear on the list of processes displayed by Top. Anyway, there are plenty of Puppies that do work, so I'm giving up on it.

I find that of 4.3.1, in general.

Didn't get a chance to try it on a network -- so it's hard to tell how much the browser will drag it down. But the fact that the newest Puppy worked surprised me!

An older (somewhat similar) machine locked up partway thru the boot. But it did boot under Puplite 4.0.

I didn't get a chance to try ttuuxxx' 214 on them, however (that might be a better fit).

Edit, 3-23-2011:
I just tested 4.3.1 and both retros in a 300MHz AMD K6-2, and they all worked. Details here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=506791#506791
