TestDisk & PhotoRec for GNU Puppy Linux

Many times the user has ms-Recovery Console only on hard drive. Often, only a clean install option is offered on OEM discs. Without an msWin option one might run TestDisk in Puppy to save the drive. Recently put a copy of TestDisk on a Puppy to allow the user to recover some data. She had trouble accessing and starting the program, and was annoyed that the icons didn't work. So a little bit of scripts, links, and polish later we have Puppys' Extra Treat. Maybe you can use it? Try it out, then 
Works on GNU/linux and msWin formatted hard drives, usb-flash, sdcard, etc... Run pet or sfs(4) made from precompiled static apps. For GNU/linux kernel 2.6 for 32 and 64 bit. No dependencies. Menu entries for both apps under Utilites. Command line access supported, too. The loader will look, in order of preference, for your installed console: terminal, aterm, rxvt, xterm. TestDisk loads in terminal in K9, and rxvt under main Puppy, for example. If your favorite isn't listed edit /usr/bin/testdisk_sh, & photorec_sh. Post your preferred version here. Then why not just get them to download the original tarball from the original site? Anyway it never occurred to me that Google was short of bandwidth

Not quite the same thing. The packages made are based on, and include the files from that source, but include small Puppy-specific additions and alterations. Also, both pet and sfs format is easier for the average user to remove. I know, it's easy but this attempts to make it native, like the Puppy and flowers.

I know! That's the first thing I think, too. The site is a free cloud-server, with SaaS, scalable resources, sends data to/from user from an instance loaded in nearest g-server, etc... ie a cloud server running on a little VM. I over-ran my bandwidth before on a previous server, but perhaps I am being too cautious? No complaints yet here, at least.
It is g's free level of resource alocation, so no payment required. With the ugliest look, too 
No, leave it as it is. Let users choose the direct or DL-htm route. The only ones who benefit from the download-htm version are the curious and g-mail etc users who are set to auto-login.
