Configuring gpptp PPTP vpn client in PUPPY 5.2 Subject description: need some HUGE help on how to make a vpn connection to a pptp vpn server |
|
Hallo to my puppy gurus! Sorry to nag you, I hope you have some clue for solving my pptp connection problem.
I'm using puppy 5.2 with great satisfation, and, as usual, I'm one of those lads who are eager to say they're at one step from being almost free from MS's OSes. I said "almost" because (that's way I'm asking you) I am in real big troubles with trying to connect to my university pptp server through gpptp pptp vpn client.
My username, password, the gateway (I think that's the same as what appears to be VPN server on gpptp mask) are obviously the same as those I use with my "underground" winxp (I have a frugal installed puppy). There the whole thing works smoothly, needless to say, being their protocol. I have read a post
Howto setup Microsoft VPN with gpptp
but, honest, being a clumsy code user (namely, not oner at all, as you can tell from my unappropriate lingo), I was firmly relying on the aforementioned gpptp client GUI in the, maybe wrong, belief that it might have been easy even for me, to set it up and givi it a go. Anyway, I am only asking (begging) whether it is possible to have some very SIMPLE instructions (step by step, even as regards using scripts...) to have it working. I'll be EXTREMELY grateful to all of you!
By the way, whenever I try to connect I get this:
Connecting to VPN server...
PPTP client (6963) exited with 0
I can't figure it out, all I know is that I am firmly convinced to stick to this great OS, reviving my old laptops in an enviromentally friendly way (and, last but not least, bloodless, referring to RDC wolframite, coltan mines, child soldiers involved in wars to control them, I refer to the extraction of raw materials for producing all sorts of electronic device, etc.), to say the least... Ok, got the message.
Many ,many thanks in advance.

I have the exactly same problem, so PLEASE if some one knows something, post it, I really need the VPN to work. It would be a shame to have to use another OS.
