OpenBox Themes

#1 Post by GustavoYz »

A lot of themes for OpenBox, re-packed from a Debian package.
Installed, its still under ~1MB.
See the attached cap, shows all the themes dirs added to /usr/share/themes and availables from the OB configure.

Hope you like it.

I got segmentation fault(obconf) with these themes: AbsE Bamboo Dyne Gold Nova-Blue Nova-Gold Sodio Wblue Zenyellow. I removed those themes to "fix it". I'm using Openbox 3.4.7.2 and ObConf 2.0.3

Does it crash?
I tested it on OpenBox 3.4.11 using the v2.0.3 of Obconf -same as you-.
You mean a segmentation fault when you pick one from Obconf?

But don't worry, I'm happy with all others themes. Thank you.

Glad to listen that at least some themes works.
I get errors related to Obconf and/or gtk+, but some themes seems to has bugs inside (there are contributed themes). Somehow, the 'buggy' themes works, besides the command errors... So, Shall I remove the attach or modify the pet?
At least, this comments should work as a warning advice or something like that... Going to check the pet again.
Regards.

I would modify it so that the problem ones are in a separate .pet while the ones confirmed to work are in another.

By the way, if you guys find a theme for OpenBox that you like but there's no .pet for, simply unzip and place in /usr/share/themes. I've also found this works for GTK themes as well. :)
Not sure if it's known or not, but I figured it'd be worth mentioning.

I have tested the themes and all works fine on here, so no modify from my part.
Some OB themes packed contains gtk themes too.

Yep, OB and Gtk themes go into that directory.

A new-ish openbox theme (anyx-v) is in the package referenced in this topic-starter, viz

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=501240#501240

anchos was the 'inspiration' from one of Gray's puplets :)

___addenda..
A subtle-ish openbox-bg+'kit' with (I hope) proper credit as due for those interested in such is in the 'pilferage' archive. It goes well with my anyx-v theme - sry, no preview(s) .. dl or don't.

If you can't get enough xml (and might even by chance have afterstep), there's a few more items in the much smaller asobxml package - the .jpgs in the above package are more-or-less static images but xml is quite editable with the proper tools and some hands-on :)

xml bgs (afterstep has the tools needed to make these functional, otherwise they're merely xml)
