Why uClibc to glibc?

I was thinking about working with Gentoo embedded, or Debian embedded to make a small system that ran good on even older equipment. You seem to be doing similiar stuff here in a way. You have accomplished a fair bit and even seem to be working on the printing problem.

Please share with me the reasons why you switched back to the more standard glibc when it takes quite a bit more space? I do not have your experience here and am keen to know if you could spare a moment.

You save a little bit of space, but the hassles are just not worth it.

Some apps won't compile, features missing, things that just don't work
for undetermined reasons.
...endless hassles, to save about 1M, or half a meg compressed.

This was discussed in the last forum I think, or maybe the one before that.

Hmm, thanks.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll double check and find those old forums when I get the chance. I guess it only really matters when you want it really small and that Meg or half meg is a deal breaker.
