Edit: Old version taken down and recompiled version put up with correct symlinks and unneeded files (docs, src) taken out. New pet compiled on Luci-256 and tested on 501
For what use would this be for?

It can be used for many things, anywhere from cracking md5 hashes to creating creating dictionary word-lists for WPA cracking and just about everything in between. I mainly use it to create on-the-fly word-lists for testing to make sure routers I set up have secure passwords. The community enhanced version has a lot of extra tools so the official documentation would be the best place to learn more , the official website is found here :

I am having much trouble...

I am using Puppy Linux and I want to install JTR onto puppy linux. I downloaded the file (john_1.7.8-1_i386.deb) and installed it in puppy linux but it had no application UI. I am not very familiar with linux nor debian. Can someone point me in the right direction in order to get JTR properly working.

Thanks for the feedback

Hey guys sorry I don't know why but it appears that just about every package I've ever uploaded to the site has disappeared and I don't know why. I'm not very active on here anymore as I work mainly on my own personal recovery distros that I use for work now. If I find time to find the packages I'll re-upload them.

Edit: JTR Does have one or two quality functional GUIs for Linux and one of them is included in the latest version of my Puppy Crypt derivative, a bit old but is compatible with the version of JTR I had uploaded here.
