Thanks to forum user Blackadder who gave me a tcl script that lets you change the cpu speed on a centrino PC, I have gotten very interested in the language and have just ordered a book to help me learn it ("Practical Programming in TCL and TK" by Welch & Brent). I think Tcl (pronounced "tickle") is just right for Puppys belly . . .
I am convinced that once a language is simple and easy to use, it is abandoned by programmers. There is a great macro (which is how tcl started) language for Windows called autoit http://www.hiddensoft.com/autoit3/
Not used by serious programmers - of course not . . .
I did play with tcl and thought it wonderful in its elegant simplicity.
Anyway before I start rambling just to wish you good luck - I think you have made a great choice.
