KDE+Enlightenment+Puppy

#1 Post by slacka »

Hey people,

I've been using puppy 1.0.8 for a while now with the enlightenment window manager. I am interested in downloading the kde puppy version, but I am wondering if it is possible to use enlightenment for KDE on puppy 1.0.8.

Cheers!

Yes, you can use both.
Install KDE 3.4.1 or 3.5.1.

KDE 3.4.1 only (addon-file):

KDE 3.4.1 inluding OpenOffice , Java, Wine and Codecs:
http://dotpups.de/puppy-releases/Megapu ... d-more.htm

KDE 3.5.1 (needs a huge pup001):
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=5852

KDE 3.5.0 Iso (Alpha, based on Puppy 107, missing some things, but the fastest):
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=5899

I use the ISO, but I think Puppy 108 + KDE 3.5.1 might be less "Alpha".
I think KDE 3.4.1 is the most "complete", it even has Koffice as an addon, and the integrated Mediaplayer works well (in 3.5.0 it does not).

In enlightenment, run the menueditor, and add a new entry "kicker" to the user-menu.
Kicker is the KDE-Taskbar with the KDE-menu.

Or add the command "kicker &" to /root./xinitrc ,before the line "exec $CURRENTWM".

I justdon't know if it is possible, to use the KDE-Desktop-icons.
But anyway the ROX-Desktop-icons are better I think, as they have better Puppy-integration and support Drag'n'Drop.

This Picture shows E16 with kicker and Konqueror:
