im newbie, i use puppy520, canon mp270, i setup my printer using cups 1.4.3, find new printer, & detected as canon mp270, & then add cups+gutenprint v5.2.5, done, then i use libreoffice to open a document, try to print, nothing happen, i reboot, switch to windows xp, just want check my printer, its works in windows xp, any suggestion? thanks.

Glad to help. But I don't know how installing the pixma scanner driver helped to make your printer work.

i follow the steps basic in your post, download&install driver, cups-bjnp-0.5.4-i486.pet, cups 1.3.11 although dont understand the function setup with cups 1.3.11, & finally the printer is respond, before that its idle, many thanks.
