To recobayu ...

You should read old Forum postings to see how
the 'Trash" feature was developed by a couple of
good programmers a couple of years ago.
I don't use it myself , but I should.

New version 4.9.9

I finished the Zathura application GUI. Now when
the app is opened the first Folder is the central place
where you should store all your PDF's

When you click on a PDF file Zathura will open it
automatically and very quickly. 1024 pixels wide
F5 is full screen if this key is available.
You can change the opening screens height and width
with a configuration file
/root/.config/zathura/zathurarc

"to trash " ?

Hi Don,

I Liked your earlier pet so much because of the "to trash".

Now I am in latest lupu r.c. but by rightclicking on an item it gives all kind of options but, "to trash".

Do I have to set something or was this option removed ?

Thanks in advance.

I think I am guilty. I participated in making right clicks specially to the next lucid. I tracked some missing open with associations and I of course used don570 magnificent right clicks pet as base. I managed to mix OpenWith and SendTo folders and the result was that a lot right clicks was missed.
The miserable failure is now corrected. The corrected pet for Lucid Puppy is posted somewhere in the luci development thread.
The trash is back, of course.

I apologize that I have hassled with don570 great product. And I apologize all the inconvenient moments with luci 266. Next version has right clicks back as they should. I hope so.

unrar package

To open a .rar archive, here's how...

Lucid puppy has unrar builtin but
other versions don't so you'll have to install.

To install you can get a pet from
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=31797

or get an official version (which is more recent) from
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

...or you could try installing the debian version of the package
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/unrar

Once installed you can then use the right click option.

New version 5.2 - I've spent may hours on this version
getting everything right and testing it on several Puppies.

There is now a centralized forum of file management,
which Barry Kauler should promote.

The theory is simple . keep your files organized and in one place.
Right click options can help do this.
I introduced this with 'Copy to PDF Folder'
Now I have taken it further.
Of course you need space to do this. I am a convert to
a 'Full' install since it allows you to have access to the data files
in /root while still operating another operating system

A frugal install doesn't allow that

Here's a look at the structure
Image

Now there's a good choice of folders to send your files.

Note: the copying of links actually results in the true
file being copied.

Also in this version I have put additional right click options..

-gdmap (graphical disk map)
-postscript files .ps

I've done some testing on Quirky and it should work.

I changed the wording of shinobar's ffconvert
to be more useful and to keep the convert button higher
on the screen to help people with netbooks who have small
screens (600 pixels height)

New version Right-click-5.2.1.pet

New version Right-click-5.2.1.pet

I downloaded puppy 4.3.1 and have carefully checked
and made some modifications for compatiblity with
puppy 4.3.1 ( and Quirky and Wary as well)
such as 'Open with HTML Editor'
( a great feature)

However I highly recommend that you upgrade these
following apps to get the full satifaction.

pmusic 1.8.3 (since Barry didn't even put that app in)
pschedule 1.0.2 ( to use pclock properly)
pfind 4.22 ( This gives a couple more features with
searching inside of folders)
Edit: I forgot to mention that Puppy 4.3.1 should
be upgraded with Retrovol as the audio mixer

I also found one minor irritant, namely 'Play fullscreen'
doesn't work in puppy 4.3.1 ,
however if you can install mplayer even that will work,
but why bother...

new version 5.2.2

Right-click-5.2.2.pet available

Several minor changes.

I apparently left out the copy of folders feature

I've improved screenshotbrowser.sh to get rid
of the annoying first window if desired

A note about icons: I've tried to avoid adding new icons
to this package to keep it as small as possible,
but I've noticed a couple of applications that do
strange things. One is Gnumeric, where a switch to
a new more attractive icon has occured about a year ago.
( so I use it)

The other is Geany . Barry Kauler wants to use the icon
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/geany.pgn
because links point to that icon. It is very attractive, which
may explain his change in choice of icon. I'm using it
now as well to be compatible with future Puppies.

But it does cause some incompatibility with older Puppies.
Maybe I'll fix that in the next version.

I'm dissapointed that you haven't maintained the attachments for previous versions. Do you have copies of them available somewhere else?

I've deleted a lot of my previous work, ... but tell me
what Puppy version you use and maybe I can make a new version.

Wary multilingual for instance should be upgraded
by me...

If you spot any bugs just tell me.

new version 5.2.3

very minor changes. Hardly worth the upgrade.
I've spent the weekend on making a Squeeze version.

For people who want to
experiment with the latest kernel
try Squeeze Puppy . I've made a special
version of Right click just for it.

Changed two things

1) wav to mp3 conversion -- both single file and folder

2) scripts are treated different. They shouldn't be edited with Abiword
so I substituted nicoedit

Just click to install

I added a new feature ... conversion of wav to mp3.

Both an entire folder and a single file.

open with "sfs load on the fly" ?

Hi Don,

Great app, but what I do not see is "open with "sfs (un-)load on the fly"".

Could you tell me -being a very low-profile wannabee user- how to do this ?

Posted: Sat 13 Aug 2011, 21:33
by pemasu
Sfs load on the fly pet installs sfs_load right click itself.

Thanks, but when I rightclick only a menu appears .. not offering "open etc."

You have to right click sfs file.

pemasu wrote:You have to right click sfs file.
Ashamed to tell, but that's what I do, I am in the 2 headed where it is inbuilt .. rightclick and then I get menu etc.

Then the sfs_load right click has been removed from it. Install the sfs load on the fly pet or extract it and copy only the right click stuff.
