I also installed the xorg high driver if that help that's the only thing extra I have downloaded along with my ati drivers for video.

Thanks

I confirm this bug. I noticed that a few days ago, but I forgot to report it.

Boxee is working for me on 520 & 525 with just my nvidia driver installed. (it does require the video driver)

There is also a portable boxee here you could tryhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/portabl ... 8/download

I do have it running a another computer with pup 525 and I don't know why it worked on this one and no the other. My biggest question is now has anyone had any luck getting netflix to work with boxee on linux . If so how. I have tried everything I can think of.

thanks
Henry

Hi,

To get Boxee (portable linux version) to work in Lupu 5.25 I needed Xorg_High (in my case this was recommended via the quickpet Drivers test).

Without that driver there was not a flicker of life, but Boxee was fine with it.

So, 666philb is likely to be correct about needing a suitable driver.

The portable version does run well but it is not better than the pet.

My regards

Boxee has all the included dependencies and needs an accelerated graphics driver to run on Lucid puppy - unfortunately it seems that since the boxee box release work on the linux desktop version of boxee has all but pretty much stopped. :(

There is an .sfs XBMC-10.1 for lucid puppy as well - this also requires an accelerated graphics driver.

I have no idea about netflix as that service is not available here - but im sure i read over on the boxee forum that netflix is not supported on the linux version - maybe it is on XBMC, who knows.

Thanks for the help. I have also read that netflix was not supported on the linux version. so I guess it really don't matter now. Maybe one day it will be. Thats the only thing that keeps windows going at my house.

Thanks again
