I've just finished building a dotpet for the just-announced official Google Chrome stable final version for Linux. Tested on Quirky 1.2rc only.
I need a place to where I can upload it. At 25MB it seems to be just over the max size limit for www.datafilehost.com
Any suggestions as to where I could upload it?

OK thanks for the upload tips guys.
Get Chrome final stable for Puppy here:

edit: oops there was a missing dependency - fixed now.
so download link has changed.
This is one very fast browser running in Puppy.
There is a bug in the clear history section that causes the dialog to crash, but it doesn't crash the browser and you can still exit the dialogue. This bug really should be reported to Google, but it's not a show-stopper in any case.
Enjoy!

Re: Google Chrome stable final dotpet for Puppy
Is this going to work on dpup? Or likely to?tronkel wrote:I've just finished building a dotpet for the just-announced official Google Chrome stable final version for Linux. Tested on Quirky 1.2rc only.
I tried it, and got segmentation fault. But that may simply be an
indication of something else wrong, not necessarily an indication that
chrome can't work in dpup.
The firefox browser in my dpup477 has broken so I'm trying to find a
browser, any browser with flash, that I can download and install.
Thanks.

The Chrome dotpet that I made uses libraries from Debian Unstable and works OK in Quirky 1.1 and also in 1.2rc.
As an experiment. try downloading Chrome stable directly from Google (this will be a DEB) which you'll be able to install using Puppy's Package Manager in Dpup.
Start Chrome directly from a terminal and see if there are any missing dependency errors. If there are, go to packages.debian.org and install anything missing from there. That might actually restore four Firefox installation as well. If that is the case, then Chrome should also run. That's the theory anyway.
Hope this helps.
If I remember correctly, some puplets around the time Dpup was built had problems running the version of Firefox downloaded from mozilla .com. Since The fact that Chrome needs some libraries that are common to Firefox may well also explain the segfault that you are experiencing with Chrome. Is this going to work on dpup? Or likely to.
