:D Hello,
This can be helpful...

First tips...
Read, read, read...
Start with a working .config file...
Write down each change as you make them...
Dont get discouraged when it dont work...
Try not to wet yourself when it does..

Wuxiandianzi, Pemasu, etc...
These are the guys... :D
Kernels, patching, etc...

Hoping they get involved in this thread.... 8)

Yes, Richard Stallman HAS contributed an important and intrinsic part of what we call Linux, but is in OS form, correctly GNU/Linux, however the Kernel remains just Linux

I am Lothar, of the Hill People.

For many a moon I have walked with women. And yet none have correctly understood what Linux was, let alone GNU/Linux. Perhaps this is because Stallman's work is unrecognized by many, or overshadowed by his other good deeds. In spite of this, I continue to walk with women.

:D Hello,
Greetings Lothar of the Hill People.
You are wise in the ways of walking..
Perhaps this Stallman of the GNU tribe,
was not wise in such things??
Perhaps he did not walk with women...

By the sun in the sky, I see it is time that I must go..
Walk tall Lothar, may peace walk with you...

:D Hello,
If we are to also be wise in the ways of walking, we must stay on track...

The Elders speak of "patches" which must be applied to the kernel first..

The AUFS patch has powerful magic, and must not be forgotten....

Also. one must configure for NTFS, ReiserFS, Ext4, and USB support..
Patches used on the standard Puppy, are usually linked to the Great Wizard, BarryK of the Wary Tribe`s blog..
Also, the wizards mentioned above, have many patches...

Ancient wisdom speaks of such things as "group scheduling" and "clock speed"... Also new magic, like initrd and squashFS kernel support, must be
sang about at the fire...

Powerful magic.... 8)

I am Lothar, of the Hill People. Much I have seen, and much I have done, for I am Lothar, of the Hill People!

Right you are, Puppyluvr of the Tribe of Kennel. Kernel patches are powerful magic indeed! It reminds me of the time the Tree People attacked us with a force three times as strong, but we defeated them. The seasons may come and go, but some things do not change.

If only walking with women were as easy.
