Polarpup-005 with Qt4-4.8.0 and Gstreamer libs inbuild

#376 Post by Billtoo »

I made pets of audacious 3.0.1 and it's dependencies in polarpup005.
All 4 pets need to be installed for audacious to work.

After installing the pets you need to open the terminal and run
fixmenus, then exit the terminal restart x.

audacious plays audio cds and ogg files but not mp3 files.

Wow !! Thank you Billtoo. There surely is not lack of media players now in Polarpup. I will check your pets and I will probably create unified pet of them and upload them to the repo, I need to check first that there is no overlapping libs.
Thanks. Highly appreciated as always with your great compiles.

It is time to add more Qt apps. First little funny app to create some word or sentences in different rotations to the printed page. It creates pdf of the result, which you can print.

Next one is for Billtoo...or other WindowMaker user. Automatic wallpaper changer from many different locations.
Wally-2.4.2

http://qt-apps.org/content/show.php/Wally?content=87798

JWM user get only /root/.wally folder where you can see changing wallpapers.
I got it taking contact to the Deviant art by giving in settings some search parameter for the app. I used wallpaper search parameter. Really intuitive.

Those who have WindowMaker, XFCE4 or Fluxbox installed in Polarpup, can try the real wallpaper changing properties. Not sure if this really works in Puppies. Anyway...It was easy compile.

I tried the wally pet but it wouldn't work with Window Maker.
I use rxvt to change wallpaper with the command:
wmsetbg -u -S -w (number of workspace) filename.jpg
I have 9 different wallpapers in polar pup, 19 in wary :)

I did a full install of polar pup to my newest netbook and it's
working great.

Next application uses Imagemagick which is preinstalled in Polarpup. It is great product of forum member vovchick.
Plogo creates 3D font png files. It is really easy to use and deserves a place in Graphics section.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=70058

I uploaded it here since Polarpup natively works with it.

Previously known as TexMakerX, nowadays Texstudio, is an integrated writing environment.

http://texstudio.sourceforge.net/

I have compiled latest Texstudio-2.2. I have packaged it as full with all locales and en_gb_us version with dictionary-grammar-other stuff for gb and us.
NLS package has all other locales.

QjackCtl is a simple Qt application to control the JACK sound server daemon, specific for the Linux Audio Desktop infrastructure.

Provides a simple GUI dialog for setting several JACK daemon parameters, which are properly saved between sessions, and a way control of the status of the audio server daemon. With time, this primordial interface has become richer by including a enhanced patchbay and connection control features.

QjackCtl is free, open-source software, distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later.
http://qjackctl.sourceforge.net/

I have libjack installed but no jackd or other jack related packages in Polarpup. Those who might need this surely knows what to do with it.
Dont ask me, or of course you can, but the answer is not coherent.

This is not exactly Polarpup spesific, but it uses same libs as Polarpup has.

Somebody asked about this app in another thread since 4.3.1 version compiled didnt work in Lucid Puppy. So...I gave it a shot and it worked oob in Polarpup. One lib needed to add and I compiled the latest version.
Jackbeat is a free multi-platform audio sequencer, for musicians and sound artists:

Meanwhile. Since I was compiling Jackbeat, I remembered that Hydrogen is Qt4 Drum Machine application. I compiled latest svn 0.9.6 version also.
It is in Pets_Qt4 repo as separated packages. I included the libs to the main package which I included in to the compile.

Hi pemasu:
Since you are now busy with compiling applications for Polar Puppy, may I ask for compiling the latest version of Kmymoney, i. e. version 1.0.5. The one in PPM is version 1.0.4.
The source is here:
http://kmymoney2.sourceforge.net/index-home.html
Thanks!

Marco07. It seems to need kdelibs. I havent before tried to compile anything needing them. I will put it to the todo list. But no promise of the timetable.

I have compiled Darktable-0.8.0 at SnowPuppy midphase time. There has been 3 updates after that. Now I compiled Darktable-0.9.2. Again the Polarpup multimedia libs benefits, but I needed to include to the pet quite a lot new stuff, like gphoto2 cli binary, openexr, lcms2 needed to compile and quite a lot pics manipulation libs.
Note:Darktable is not Polarpup spesific, it should work in other Lucid Puppies also. Libexiv2 could be needed, maybe some other libs, but they should be in ubuntu lucid repos.
Darktable is a photography workflow application: a virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers: it manages your digital negatives in a database and lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable. it also enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.

Locales and some docs are in same Pets folder. Manual is not precompiled in. It needed some obscure dependency, I didnt bother to hunt it.

Dear pemasu,

I noticed from your latest post regarding PMusic that you have compiled a new version of ffmpeg (ffmpeg-0.8.4). Any chance of posting it - and also the dependencies - here?

With thanks and kind regards,
vovchik

Sure. The dependencies are for Dpup Exprimo which means av* libs are compiled using debian squeeze base and the included needed libs are from debian squeeze repo. But anyway, it should work just fine in Lucid Ubuntu based Puppies also. You just need to hunt possible missing libs. Libusb might need at least symlink to the existing one in /lib.

I will upload the ffmpeg-0.8.4 to the pet_packages-exprimo repo now.
http://www.smokey01.com/pemasu/pet_pack ... -0.8.4.pet

Those libs and dependencies I needed are in that pet already. Extract the pet and check.
Launch the ffmpeg in console and you get error of missing lib. Hunt it, include it and launch again.

Dear pemasu,

Thanks a million. Your version works perfectly with Lucid. I did not even have to search for any extra libs. How nice :)
