After almost 2 years without updates, the new version of the file manager is here, and it adds a lot of commands. I tried to compile it but it shows several mistakes beyond my knowledge. Could someone kindly put a pet file together? Here is the link for the download: http://vifm.sourceforge.net/index.html
Thanks guys

Dear Rattlehead,
I compiled it in Lucid and it is available here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 652#535652. While the desktop entry appears in Filesystem/File Managers, it doesn't run for me from IceWM. Any idea? Apart from that it seems to run nicely by clicking the desktop file (/usr/share/vifm.desktop) and by launching from a term.
With kind regards,
vovchik

Hey Vovchik,
THANK YOU. I owe you a big one. I use Vifm as my main file manager, so today I feel like I have been given a new pair of legs
About the Icewm thing you mention, I don't know... I use ratpoison and I don't even have Icewm installed. In JWM I've checked and it does work, though... Maybe you could be interested in Emelfm? It's another file manager with the same two-pane philosophy, and very customizable, but using GTK instead of ncurses.
Thanks again

FYI, Coolpup sends me the link to the Emelfm2 entry in the Puppy wiki, in case someone is interested (there are other 2-pane file managers, but this is the one I liked the most, before I became a console enthusiast )
Take care
