Initial test:
  1. The boottime boot splash selection screen indicates that the 3 selections are for EmSee V2.3 instead of V2.4.
  2. Selected the option for 64bit
  3. System boots to a login: root with pw=woofwoof
  4. FirstRUN for localization needs
    Image
  5. Upon FirstRUN completion, "Connect" is run to allow PUP to participate on the LAN-WAN.
  6. Open FF to post this report
It would be welcomed to have the Linux updatedb/locatedb/slocate commands available to Linux terminal

I see your question in my desktop-icons-by-wbar thread, and I have downloaded 2Sugars. Let me study this a bit and I will get back to you.

FYI
pet of slocate from the post. You can test it
.PET installed. Test results:

Code: Select all

sh-4.3# slocate
slocate: warning: Could not find the group: slocate in the /etc/group file.
slocate: fatal error: This is a result of the group missing or a corrupted group file.
What would resolve this: rights or link?

simply add an entry to /etc/group file, like this

Code: Select all

slocate::114:root,spot,fido

The tray icon appears when no open-gl is active, as in this iso. Now that I have remade the iso with open-gl drivers the network icon is again invisible! How bizarre.

So there will be a choice of two iso files this time tomorrow if not sooner. The second will have open-gl active. At least for intel.

Can you report your gpu card and wether or not open-gl is active? Thanks.

@StemSee, your work is masterful. The steps and how the issue was addressed for "finding files instantly" is shown here.

Thanks for addressing the need.

Hey folks

The network tray icon has again reappeared, and running open-gl drivers! I would love to figure this out.

"Puppus Dogfellow

It should be. I haven't taken it down yet!

The link is in a text file you have to copy and paste the link into a browser. The first link you see is just for the md5. But anyway I will upload an update with open-gl and 3.18.7 kernels shortly.

Appears to work under Superlupu1 (I didn't feed it any parameters, but the ran without reporting errors).

i find one issue that some may find discomforting. I find that to get the latest EmSee I would need to add an extension to my browser (I am running from the prior EmSee-Sugar) that is propietary to Mega. (this has not been the case in the past with your other distros...just this latest).

You may want to post using a less invasive download site.

Firefox only needs this Mega extension when downloads from Mega are 2GB or bigger.

@Puppus Dogfellow, THANKS. Phenomenal download speed.

Anyone have an md5 checksum for this version?

Update: Sugar downloaded, booted option 2 (64bit) and running without noticeable issues for over 12hrs. On your next release, you may want to change the V2.3 reference in the bootsplash selection screen where you are mentioning V2.4 while showing V2.3 for boots.

Very, very responsive @Stemsee.
