Alright so I finally finished compiling all the programs and getting a bunch of issues sorted out, as I've said before this is just coming out as a remaster not a full blown built from the ground up derivative however it is just as effective just not as nice looking as some others. I'm currently uploading to my dropbox so it will be ready for download soon. I currently do not have a list made of what programs are included but I will do so as soon as I am able to. There are only three issues i've really seen so far which are:

1. Icons are missing at boot in the menu, must run fixmenus to get them to show
2. IPMonitor does not work, that is because it is a java program and I left java out, put IPMonitor in by mistake and will remove it later
3. I had to make it load into ram because for some reason when I left it to run from the cd I had a bug where the Rox Pinboard would not mount and left me with a blank screen until I ran fixmenus and restarted the x server.

I've also left the default WMs in instead of putting in Icewm as It was also giving me some problems but will switch over later when I can get all issues resolved.

did frugal hdd manual install. wl.ko driver not supported used broadcom pet available on this board for 2.6.33.2 kernel. then able to connect to the internet without issue.

Truecrypt asks for password when call up user guide. What is it?

Truecrypt when click on FAQ or help calls up browser chooser even though icecap is installed.

xstreg when clicking appears to do nothing.

@jim3630 the user guide is not encrypted I have found out, if you navigate to /usr/share/truecrypt/doc you can simply open it up by clicking on it and it will not ask for a password, I have emailed the dev team for truecrypt thinking it may be a bug.
I have also been unable to recreate your problem with the browser chooser popping up after selecting icecat as my default browser when clicking on the faq or online help buttons, it takes me right to the site with no problems.

Success! I've finally figured out why icewm was being such a bitch and not doing what I wanted so it will be included in the next release as the default WM. I will leave JWM and Openbox in there for people to choose what they want to use.
Still trying to sort out issues on why I'm getting massive errors when trying to load straight from cd. Also forgot to update NTFS-3g and ntfs-progs which will be updated in the next release, along with the libs for Xsteg and some missing drivers.
Unfortunately I will be gone for the next month starting today and will not have access to a computer (only my tab so I may have some limited communication) so I won't be able to get any work done however if anyone finds anymore bugs or problems or would like anything else included just leave a post and I will note them down and fix when I get back and go back to work on the next update.

Edit: Also adding a small description in first post since I deleted the old one.

Finally back from my trip here, so I can get back to work. dosfstools and sleuthkit do not come up at the console because they are a collection of tools and not just one tool hence there is no "/usr/bin/sleuthkit" however there are tools which make it up such as mmls/sigfind/mmcat and so forth, same with dosfstools. I've been trying to fix dvdrip and haven't had any success so im going to just leave it out. I tried to fix the issue with truecrypt asking for a pw for the help files and couldn't figure out why it is doing that either however I am including the fix for xsteg and upgrading the whole thing to 528. And I managed to fix the issues with duff too.

edit: @Jim just realized what you meant by duff goes blank at console , its not an error you just have to put in the parameters , try doing duff -h to see how to use properly.

Well just to let y'all know I finished a new remake utilizing 5.28, just havent made a new boot logo yet, there's one big problem that I haven't been able to fix, when I updated ntfs-3g something weird happened and now whenever files are transferred between ext and ntfs you get an error saying the operation can't be completed even though it works just fine. Since hondasid is coming out with a barebone 528 soon im just gonna wait till he releases it and build on of that since im a lazy bastard and it'll make my build a bit smaller and i'll leave out the ntfs update.

I downloaded, burned a CD and booted it on my P4 but it came up as a dark green screen with black text.

How can I correct it since I can't read anything?

Roger

Strange, please check the md5sum listed below against your download to make sure nothing was corrupted or messed up in the download. If your machine can boot Puppy 528 and has 512MB of ram then you should be able to run PupRescue 2.3 without a problem, i've tried it on several laptops and it worked fine on every one.

If the md5sum matches and you're still having problems let me know and i'll help you out the best I can, I already redownloaded it and matched it up against my original ISO to verify that the md5 was correct so if it downloads right for you then you shouldn't have any more problems, if you do try booting with the puppy pfix=nocopy to run directly from cd if running on a low ram system.
