How to use Canon MG2924 all-in-one?

#1 Post by tubema5n67 »

I have a Canon MG2924 scanner/copier/printer. I have tried several times to set it up in different Puppy distros with no luck. Puppy says that the printer is installed, but I can't get a test page to print, even though the light on the printer flashes like something is trying to print. When I try to get the drivers from the Canon website, the site tells me that it doesn't have drivers for Puppy and that I might already have them. That specific model doesn't show when I set up the unit, so I select the one that's closest- no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Read here, particularly Things to Know.

Then follow the link to the Canon section.

Your MG2924 appears to use Canon's next-generation driver. You will need the package named cnijfilter2-5.00-1-deb.

I cannot find the matching scanner driver at Canon Australia. But Canon Asia has it.
