Hi all.
My first post on this forum so please be patient.
I happened to buy an Asus 1201K last week (no OS) and decided to run linux on it. Unfortunately the only distro which gives me more than 800x600 res is Puppy 4.3.1 in Xvesa mode. It wouldn't be a problem if my mother tongue wasn't polish (Xvesa does not support polish locale in Puppy).
I already tried http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... h&id=22895
and it did not help me much -Xorg didn't start at all, and all attempts with Xvesa (either through xorgwizard or directly from CL) failed.
lspci | grep VGA returns:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 661/741/760 PCI/AGP or 662/761Gx PCIE VGA Display Adapter
In both cases I'm stuck:
Xorg doesn't start, Xvesa works slow (but gives me 1280x768 res) and does NOT give me polish fonts. Can anyone help?

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
