When I come to the Puppy Forum the fonts are very tiny - too tiny for my old eyes ;-) . I zoom in (Ctrl;+) and the fonts get bigger. I click into the next page and the fonts are tiny again. It sucks. What's my fault?
Changing the font size in Edit/Preferences/Content doesn't help.

Another thing:
When starting Firefox two tabs get opened: My start page and the Mozilla Firefox Start Page.
click the 'advanced' button in edit>preferences>content>fonts and colors, and increase the minimum font size.
edit>preferences>general, and configure what ff displays when it starts.

Laie that is how Mozilla Firefox wants it. It is a free software and that tab is their way to say. Hey we are the ones doing all the work. Maybe you as user can join our program for giving feedback :)

So it should look like that. But as Dave suggest you can change the preferences.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Thanks, DaveS,
I missed the button minimum font size, stupid me...
And I never noticed the small difference: If there are more than one tabs opened, the button in edit>preferences>general says "current pages". I just had to close the other tab and choose "current page".
Hmm, oops again.

Using nooby's .pet

#20 Post by don922 »

If you already have Firefox installed, it will overwrite it. I SHOULD also automatically update when a new beta is released.
I downloaded and am using this .pet. It seems to work well.

DaveS: I don't understand your statement,
"I SHOULD also automatically update....."

Should it read
"IT SHOULD also automatically update when a new beta is released"?

Thank You!

I hadn't seen that either, so thanks for that. I need a magnifying glass to read the on-screen type sometimes :)

Edit/Preferences/Content and then under Fonts & Colors click the Advanced button and set Minimum Font Size larger. On my 20-inch flatpanel monitor I like 12.

Would it be possible to make a pet of the new Forefox 7 available?

Thanks

Sure... is there a FF7? I have been using the beta, which just auto-updates. Will check it out. Which Puppy version?

I installed the stable release of Firefox 7 on my Ubuntu machines and this is a very fast Firefox!

It would be nice to have a PET or SFS for Puppy Linux 5.2.x.

TIA.

Yeah, the final version of FF7 has been released. It works great on all my other systems (noticeable improvement), but I downloaded and installed the Linux version (manual install) yesterday, removing the extracted and working FF5 directory - I didn't get around to installing FF6, there  - and replacing it with the extracted FF7 directory... and nothing will execute. Error messages in the terminal claim none of the binaries are dynamic executables. :(

Wonder if I downloaded the wrong version. I'll have to try again, later.

Apparently the beta does not update to the release version. I am using Fluppy013, and the beta pet you released worked fine in Fluppy.

Thanks

tlchost asks DaveS

Would it be possible to make a pet of the new Forefox 7 available?

Thanks

Dave wow that is nice and friendly, caring even. oops yes I know it is the FF7 Beta. Anyway I remember that I got it working.

I joined some Nightly build testing on mozilla but not sure how ir works with updates to the standard version. Maybe them are always nightly builds even when the Standard version arrives.
end of edit

I am so messed up now. Should one use pets or SFSs instead?

I have now used a pet installed Firefox that works in pemasu's old Snow 5 because that one allow me to save musik files much easier than the modern ones so I still ahve FF 3.6.22 :)

But I also ahve FF4 and FF5 and FF6 and FF7 but not installed.
have just saved the pet files just in case.

And I want to use Pup-Rescue and that way get Antivirus and Bleachbit and to be modern so if your pet work in Lupu528 that would be great. :)

Edit now I am back in FF from Chromium that I loaded using seaside's SFS-exec or SFS-tray. Used on for C12 and the other for C14. :)

I guess I use latest build in either Slacko or in Lupu 528 latest version.

So I should look into it ASAP tomorrow or on Saturday.

Ah you have done it again. But now the latest one?
Do I strain your patience if I ask for an sfs too?
SFS are so flexible to use :) But thanks very much for the .pet.
I will use it in your Pupu-rescue distro

Edit, oh that is great. Then I wait with going to bed until the sfs is there then. :) Much appreciated.
