Just wondering, does your new 3.0.4 528 have the new update to 528 installed in it already?

Re: 528-3.0.4
I think what most references to this are asking is if one has taken the time to build a new kernel version of PUP528, might they have taken the extra step to have added the update built into the ISO?... new 3.0.4 528 have the new update to 528 installed in it already? ...
NOT being a distro developer, I am not sure if this would have impacted the deliverable.
My questions, though, is wondering whether the distro developer wants us to use this distro without the update or does he want the updates added?
If so, how would he be able to distinguish which bug fix he is working on; namely non-updated problem or updated problem?
Just some thoughts, about the advice the developer might want to give this user community.
This PUP is, though, a great step forward no matter which advice is offered.
Hope this helps

BUG: miss/un-supported graphical card.
Hye,
Now, with your version I have issue
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/170978
On this old PC, Luci 528 or Luci 529(http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=70736), or Slacko works fine.
Test with both Midnight puppies (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=69353) show same bug.
I don't think it about the kernel, as it works fine with www.plop.at Linux which is with kernel 3.0.3 and precisely Ubuntu based distro have the issue.
Again AV Linux 5.0 works fine ("The engine of AV Linux is a customized i686 2.6.39.1 Linux Kernel featuring many performance and tuning enhancements to effectively maximize operating effiency.").
P.S. As you re-compile, can we dream of i686 compile?

sfs4 support
I haven't tested this distro myself but people from Russian Puppy forum say that sfs4 is not supported and sfs-files don't work. Is it possible to do something about it. ...Or, they could be wrong and sfs4 is supported...

you mean that this kernel can not surpport your graphica card?
This kernel surpport cpu >= pentium M

Re: sfs4 support
hi, squashfs file can be mounted by #mount -o loop *.sfs /*/,but can not auto mount it by click on. I do not know why.rodin.s wrote:I haven't tested this distro myself but people from Russian Puppy forum say that sfs4 is not supported and sfs-files don't work. sorry, I am wuxiandianzi, not Ttuuxxx.calexand wrote:Hey Ttuuxxx,
Might I ask you why the dev-x for this Pup is the smaller one (116mb) and not the dev-x_2 larger one (139mb) that got posted later for the original LUPU?
I mean, what makes the difference/decision?
Thank a lot!
CA
you know that squashfs file is compressed with xz not "lzm". XZ is newer lzm.

No Internet with This Pup
Strange. I have Puppy 528 frugally installed, but when I frugally installed this version and booted with "pfix=ram I couldn't connect to the internet. Message was there were no modules available. How could the kernel affect this feature?
