Quirky, Fatdog64 boot where other puppies fail

#1 Post by superchook »

I recently tried to boot a SlimPup 3.8 DVD on a computer with a GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H motherboard. The boot failed after loading the kernel and initrd.

PHATSlacko, Racy 5.5, Wary 5.5 and Puppy 214X-top10 all failed to boot in a similar manner. FatDog64-611 seamonkey did boot up successfully which I guessed was because it uses a "humungous" initrd.

It occurred to me that Quirky might also work so I created a bootable DVD of Quirky and it did indeed boot successfully.

All I need now is to find out how to remaster arbitary Puppy Derivatives in the Quirky manner!
