I just ran your k3b....sfs under lucid528 and got this message:
Quote: | Mp3 Audio Decoder plugin not found.
K3b could not load or find the Mp3 decoder plugin. This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from Mp3 files. Many Linux distributions do not include Mp3 support for legal reasons.
Solution: To enable Mp3 support, please install the MAD Mp3 decoding library as well as the K3b MAD Mp3 decoder plugin (the latter may already be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad). |
Any idea where the missing codec may be found, as well as anything else that may be needed? Oh, I see that labmad is present already in 528. Guess I just need the codec?
Thanks,
BS

I have found copies of the ffmpeg decoder (libk3bffmpegdecoder.la and libk3bffmpegdecoder.so) and plugin (k3bffmpegdecoder.plugin) in the version of K3B in Mediapup, but I can find no way to integrate them into this version. Copying them to the /usr/lib/kde3 and /usr/share/apps/k3b/plugins does not get them recognized. I also found a file, libk3b2-extracodecs_1.05+kde4svn935857+really1.05-3ubuntu5_all.deb, which will install in 528, but it does nothing that I could discern. Do the extra codecs have to be installed at compile time? Please help.

I have exactly the same problem, can not incorporate mp3 decoder,
tried many ways, I wonder if the program can find but not load?
A work around is to convert the MP3s to OGG before burning with k3b

Perhaps "taglib" can help. I'm even pretty sure.

loaded taglib from the following thread on 5.28
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=43585
still the decoder can not be loaded or found
I think the problem is getting k3b to recognise the decoder plugin is there?

In command line it may give an output, that something is absent.
By the way, i don't use "Lucid 528" or "Slacko" so that i don't know what can be the reason of problem in this case.

I'm trying to burn mp3s to an audio cd. k3b works apart from this. running from terminal is inconclusive.
What puppy are you running and can you burn mp3s to audio?

If my answer will help to get a good result in this case then: there is an example of installation of "K3B-1.0.5" in the "Multimedia" section from me.
The "K3B", which i have prepared for installation, after installation shows the needful plugins in the existing section for plugins, but i did not try to make an audio-CD.

hi Postfs1,
I thought your topic
K3B-1.0.5 in "Quirky Linux 1.40" ! only script to install
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=64182
was for Quirky only. I will try after testing burning WAV file with k3B sfs.
Thanks,

k3b-1.0.5-13.i686+kde3-deps.sfs stops Puppy from being able to Print,
probably a problem with permissions,
i've tried to repackage but unsuccessful so far
im using Puppy 5.28 with SFS load 1.1
--
could have something to do with MP3 plugin not working

K3B Burning tool
Better than install on Lucid 528 or Slacko, i decided using a Puppy with KDE builtin K3B

Windows for burning his CDs. |

Musher0, a Puppy canadian VIP use Windows for burning his CDs.
"Isn'it a Pity ?" would have complained george Harrisson
K3B is a burning tool even used by non linuxian people, as its quality is universally known.

That comment is below the belt, pelo! /Ce commentaire est en bas de la ceinture !
But even bad publicity is publicity! So I laugh it off!
I installed ImgBurn in my raringPup and it runs under Wine. Period.
Say something like that again, pelo, and I'll ask Merlin to morph you into a CDRW
so I can laser you with data!
