I think it happened like this:

I installed the Links www browser pupget package. Then my Firefox desktop shortcut would not work. When I clicked on it nothing happened.

I discovered that the Links package replaced the Firefox symlink to link to Links. But that is not okay because Links needs the -g switch to work. It was easy enough to fix, but I thought I'd report this minor problem anyway.
