I need to know prior to doing a few installs.
Thank you for your response.
As far as I know the 5.X Puppy versions all give a bootlader choice between legacy Grub or Grub4dos.
Thankfully Puppy hasn't moved to that buggy mess known as Grub 2 yet. I still boot everything with good old legacy Grub.

Thanks for response
Great, thank you.
That's what I was hoping .... that Puppy still uses GRUB.
I installed Ubuntu 11.x on a few machines for my end users, and it installed GRUB 2.
Since you can't easily change the boot-time menu with GRUB 2, I was only able to remove some irrelevant choices from the menu with difficulty. I never was able to change the phraseology of some of the entries to something my users could understand. What a mess.
GRUB 2 has some nice technical advances, but from the standpoint of usability, it is a big step backward. It shows loud and clear why some people don't think Linux is user friendly enough for general use.
