Lyx

Lyx is a Latex based system that lets you focus on the contents and takes over the typesetting for the user hence WYSIWYM "What you see is what you mean".
It really shines with preparing more complex documents like articles, books, descriptions etc. And the output just looks professional and "great".

For Puppy431 (probably all 4xx) you can download an sfs here
http://boxen.math.washington.edu/home/emil/Latex/
it needs python as prerequisite

I cross-posted about it in the engineering/scientific forum, because thats the main field of application - but that does not mean it cannot be useful for different purposes.

Lyx works also in Lupu and new Slacko

#2 Post by emil »

As an update:
I have used this sfs also in Lupu and tested it with the new slacko RC.
It works well and is with 170 MB the smallest working latex system on Puppy that I am aware off.
