Thinking, Thinking. Loading, Loading. It seems it can't find me.

I think this TX rest area free wifi hot spot is giving it a hissy fit.

If your browser (wisely) blocks javascript your browser won't tell the Geolocation website the necessary info to work out where you are.
Apparently the location results are usually more accurate in Europe than in USA, (coz you have privacy laws in "the land of the free").

The location given can be spot-on or way-out (I'm in UK) ...

Can't a website still get a rough idea of your location by parsing the IP address, though?

More accurately if the browser records the ID of the WiFi access points networks nearby, e.g. ...
Firefox gathers information about nearby wireless access points and your computer’s IP address ... In some places, our service providers may be able to provide a location to within a few meters.
