So I want to get podcasts on Puppy. I run IPodder on Windows, and since there is a Linux version I´d like to be able to run that on Puppy. I download it, and it apparently needs Python. I download Python. That needs to be compiled, but running ¨configure¨ gives an error about not finding a compiler. So, I download Tiny C with PupGet. Running ./configure gives me the following lovely error:

checking for C++ compiler default output file name... configure: error: C++ compiler cannot create executables

Anyone feel like helping me get this to work?

You will need a different distro with all the development tools installed to be able to compile Python.

Hmm- those links are interesting; I´ll read through them. Puppy seems to be well on the way to making me into a Linux geek Cool

Or, just grab the precompiled Python from Slackware 10.1... probably it will work.
