Lucid 528.005 start with heavily distorted screen*(Solved)*

#1 Post by olewilly »

Hi

When I try to run Lucid 528.005 live-cd it all ends with a distorted and unreadable screen :?: I tried to use puppy pfix=nox because I thought I then would be able to run xorgwizard :?: I could not. This box have 4gb ram and nvidea card : GeForce 7050 PV / nForce 630a/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!
What can I do :?:

If the iso's md5 checks out- have someone else burn your disk. What did you use'n at what speed?

Quick FYI >> When asking for assistance, it helps  to get back to those of us whom responded..

Hi Semme

I always burn iso's with lowest speed possible with k3b.

If you've successfully run other Pups.. are they the same media- burned by the same burner?

The md5 checkout? You can probably run it against your drive: md5sum /dev/your_device

Lucid 528.005 live with same Nvidia graphics.

Code: Select all

VGA compatible controller : nVidia Corporation C68 [GeForce 7050 PV / nForce 630a] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Needs to use the "vesa" driver to run on this particular graphics chip. Boot "pfix=nox". You'll need to enter xorgwizard twice...the first time will be an error message works here on the second attempt. Toggle over and choose "vesa" and pick your resolution. Works here...posting from it now.
Kind of an odd graphics chip that is very particular about needing specific drivers.
HTH.
