Here is Pidgin, but does anyone have any idea why the tray icon isn't working correctly? I'm stumped.

Sage et all,

I will be adding the majority of Jemimah's and ttuuxxx's uploaded pets into the next iso. Hopefully, woof does not break anything during the process. ( fingers crossed ). I will be working on another woof build on the weekend. If everything goes well, another iso will be released Monday. I don't expect the final version to be released for a couple of months, Maybe January if we are lucky.

ttuuxxx,
before you modify the mini-icons too much, please see the attacthed pet. I would like to include those mini-icons into Saluki, unless you have some better-looking mini-icons handy.

rcrsn51,
I got your smbw pet and will include it as well, thanks.

1. Beh serves no purpose and can be deleted.

2. Both smb and smbc can be replaced by the new smbw from here.
after 1.3.x cups has some C++ which links in libstdc++ and causes cupsd to use an extra Mb of RAM, but it can be forced to build with gcc instead of g++. (although I did find a shell script alternative at one point that seemed like it would have been nice with a little cleanup)

Speaking of C++, everyone seems to want to use latest Pango which uses C++ since 1.25 (gtk only needs pango 1.20 to build)

Re replacing mp with nano: mp has both curses and gtk backends and is ideal for apps meaning it can run in X or console (as defaulttextviewer) and has nice menus, highlighting and other goodies for newbs like me. (the new format is much better on screen space too - for netbooks/tablets ... I sent Angel my patches)
I've been thinking about submitting my jwm stuff to Joe too.

Goingnuts has done some great stuff in pupngo ...the obvious being separating the wheat from the chaff (whatever chaff is) but he has used my method for making multicall binaries to combine all the wheat into one neat little doggy biscuit.

L18L has been making great strides with localizing shell scripts and could probably use some help, since the script I wrote is fairly limited (requires a specific format and uses Google translate - needs real human input after)

Scottman has done a lot towards lowering the running footprint using various jwm tricks and only running necessary daemons etc...

Iguleder has been making many slackware style build scripts ... Too many to name.

Ttuuxxx - too many pages in the 2.x thread, but he's not shy so I don't think his stuff will fall through the cracks.

Thunor has fixed/extended gtkdialog, with micko and zigbert's continuous input while using it in updates.

... Many other puplets, but if they don't post any of their cool code as a standalone project, I wouldn't know.

Just note that Slacko has deprecated the old "gtkdialog3" (and earlier "gtkdialog2" in all pups due to slacko testing)

The main exec is gtkdialog (v0.8.0) and it has been very successful, has links to gtkdialog3 and gtkdialog4. most apps worked ootb, some had icon troubles with poor syntax, and some had trouble with passwords using the poor <entry invisible_char="x" visibility="false"> method where <entry><visible>password</visible> is by far better. Only one app tripped up with the new gtkdialog and that was just a testing failure, (I failed to see the report of the testing  ). .. bcrypt .. patch here.

LOL the GTKhash file I compiled on the previous page I put the .desktop in the wrong folder so if you downloaded it earlier please delete it and reinstall this one from the same location.

ttuuxxx,
I want to thank you greatly for the SeaMonkey package you created.
It is great to see someone that thinks ahead and adds links to the forum and Barry's site to SeaMonkey.
The only thing I missed was the Check for Updates menu listing in it.
Also, it seemed to have a problem with YouTube video even after installing Flash.
Video would play fine in a window, but would get jerky in full screen.
This is on an AMD dual core 2.2ghz PC with 3 gigs of RAM and not much else installed.

So I do not know if it was a flash problem or seamonkey problem.
I also tried clearing its cache before playing the video.

8-bit,

Yes, ttuxxx's SeaMokey is fantastic. But remember, it took a pro like him 1.5 days to make, and he has told me that it takes about 3 hours to compile! Great work indeed; but keeping it updated would be a job on it's own, seeing as how SeaMonkey updates so quickly these days. If ttuuxxx could write a formula or a 'how-to' on his fantastic work, then perhaps someone (not me) could maintain updated versions of his custom SeaMonkey in the future.

I have similar hardware and the same problem in Racy. It is Adobe flash.

go back to flash 10 if you can, it's a lot better with this problem, but it's not fully resolved, however some things/sites are now demanding 11 so you need to check.

I've got a patch for gtk so mounted drives show up in file dialogs. I'll send it to you when I get a chance to test it.
A lot of programs assume that if you have gtk>2.12, then you "obviously" have the gvfs module ... It has circular dependencies though - you need to compile glib then gvfs, then glib again. (abiword and pcmanfm off the top of my head.)

Also I still recommend using pango 1.24.5 to keep libstdc++ out. 90% of the changes since they moved to harfbuzzng have been to work around C++ (except for introspection changes - needed for gtk3?)

I still use flash9 unless I install the x dri package... Seems to work best for unaccelerated video.

(abiword and pcmanfm off the top of my head.) <--- 2.14X has gtk 2.16 and when I compiled abiword earlier this year, It compiled fine without gvfs
so it isn't all that "obvious" that you need it, and as pcmanfan goes, I can live without it, but if it will make you happy I'll recompile glib with gvfs added.

Also I still recommend using pango 1.24.5 to keep libstdc++ out. 90% of the changes since they moved to harfbuzzng have been to work around C++ (except for introspection changes - needed for gtk3?) <--- GTK3 is what I compiled after this backend and yes I needed a new pango for the latest GTK3, the whole GTK3 pet was a single extra pet, and it was 1.7MB, And I compiled a fork of leafpad that was only gtk3 and it worked, but then I had to compile 5 extra packages to get aisleriot-3.3.0 compiled which were gmp, guile, itstool, libcanberra, libunistring,, but it segfaulted without reason, nothing in the terminal, or xerrs.log, shame I was looking forward to that excellent card suite without all the extra gnome games. Also the GTK3 gtk-update-icon-cache was messing up the default icons in the menu so I swapped the GTK3 gtk-update-icon-cache for the GTK2 gtk-update-icon-cache and that fixed that issue. So I'll hold off on the gtk3 and revert back to pango 1.24.5 as you mentioned above,

when I compiled pidgin in the past I usually tried to make the package as small as possible, I don't know if this is you icon issue, but what caused it for me was that I removed some of the icons which had different sizes and system link them to same icons but larger ones, and then on the tray the icons weren't resized smaller that were very large and you would just see parts of the icons. Basically its just best not to touch pidgins icons, the code isn't all that great for resizing icons.

I actually didn't try to remove icons yet - well not except the large emotes theme which definitely isn't needed. I'll look at it again soon - or look for one that someone else packaged and see if it has the same issue.

It could be a couple of days, maybe tomorrow. Basically you just find references to /media in libgio and replace them with /mnt. I just need to download it, fix it, and build it - but you can probably figure it out if you want.

Re: gvfs
My point was that many programs have switched from using xdg-open to using gvfs facilities to run external programs, so while abiword does compile fine, when you try and use a plugin that calls an external program, it will give a meaningless "operation not supported" error in the terminal and otherwise silently fail to ... Say ... Open a browser, aiksaurus, etc ... I really should have filed a bug report that patched it with something like ifdefs HAVE_GVFS, but the code didn't seem straight forward.

This might be a nice addition, I made an icon for pupsaves/mime

ttuuxxx or someone might be able to optimise it for size as 5k is a bit big compared with the other mime icons.
