Sub_title: selecting both files and directories

I was wondering if it is at all possible that gtkdialog fileselect has the ability to select either files or directories in the same instance.

I'm sure I found it mentioned somewhere on the forum years ago but can't find any reference to it, though it could have been to do with chooser.

So what I'm looking for is fileselect in a directory mode with the ability to create a newfolder but with the files not grayed out.

The reason I require it this way is so I can select the paths to either files or directories.
