VLC-1.1.13 and Umplayer-0.97 for Slacko 531
avplayersj2-slacko-i686.sfs (58mb in size)contains VLC-1.1.13 and Umplayer-0.97
Umplayer needs the proprietary Nvidia or Ati video driver installed to
play full screen.
avplayersj2-slacko-i686.sfs only works in Slacko, I tested it in
Slacko 531 PAE.

I only tested it in one other pup unsuccessfully so I assumed it would only work in Slacko-5.3.1playdayz wrote:VLC 1.1.13 and Umplayer seem to work in Lucid 5.2.8 also. Thanks!
It's using SDL to output video in lucid-528.004, the "F" key toggles fullscreen.
I made a vlc-1.1.13 sfs for fatdog64 too, download link is:

Hi billtoo,
would it be possible for you to compile vlc with dvb support. As at the moment i'm still having to use the old 1.0.6 goldeneye version, as it's the only one with dvb support enabled.
cheers

Billtoo
This, as you know from our past PMs, has foxed me for some time and I am in the same boat as 666philb.
I have however just stumbled over this post which may explain matters:
http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/v ... 05781.html
If I am interpreting it correctly --enable-dvbpsi is now needed rather than --enable-dvb.
Willing to test if you agree and decide to give it a try.

hi Billtoo & ETP
the vlc 1.0.6 goldeneye has /usr/lib/vlc/access/libdvd_plugin.so
this & a few other plugins are missing from your later vlc compiles. (such as libpvr_plugin.so)
possibly you may need to install libdvbpsi and it's headers for enable-dvb or enable-dvbpsi to work when compiling.
you can tell if it's has dvb support in vlc by opening the /media/open capture device/ capture mode menu

I'm sorry but I really don't know how to do get that working.666philb wrote:hi Billtoo & ETP

Here's a screenshot of vlc-1.1.12 running in Xubuntu 11.10
(64bit version) on my netbook,it seems to have all that enabled.
Or perhaps someone else can help you out with a new vlc for puppy.

I burn a CD Slacko 5.3.1
I burn a CD for my first success to connect wireless and audio available at home. Slacko 5.3.1 was the first Puppy Linux to run on Medion P7624 brand new, bought 2012 to replace DELL (stolen !). None of the Puppy existing then had audio.
I am renewing now my pupsave (in fact session added to CD RW) by adding your VLC 1.1.13.
I am testing your VLC catalog and create a Data base of mediaplayers, VLC being the base , others Mediaplayers being compared to it.
The goal is to use databases, included in Puppy Linux. and To know tools playing DVDs and CDS
