Seamonkey 2.72 that is in Slacko 5.3.2.4 and now in 5.3.2.6 did not auto update for me. I deleted Seamonkey Lib in 5.3.2.4 and also in 5.3.2.6, then installed 2.8 beta 3 and so far works for me
