Hi antiloquax !
Thanks for this puplet !

Seeking to run an application requiring wxPython, please would you indicate a wx-gtk archive which runs on this puplet? Or how to install it?

By the way, the application is a project management Gantt scheduler, download here (less than 400KB sized !) which looks more efficient than Gnome-Planner (...imho, having tested both...).

(Getting a working Python+wxPython environment is my major difficulty to achieve this application running).
It worked on puppies4.X using the forum member Big Bass pets documented here (python +deps + wxgtk)

You said you created RacyPy for a training coarse. Is this training based on commandline (as in the screenshot's you gave) or also set up to use an IDE ? Are you using Geany ? Or something else.

The training coarse material, is that classified (as if " I need to make money from it"), or can you place a link ? I am new to python, but have some background in other languages (assembly, (free)basic, BACON).

I use Vim and Geany as IDEs. But most of my screenshots are from idle, because they look nicer.

@Charlie. I have tried to get wxPython working (partly because I fancy having a go with DrPython - an ide that uses wxWidgets & wxPython).
So far, I haven't managed. I'll keep you posted.

hey guys, im just trying to load racypy onto my pc using a boot from disk, ive burnt the iso and stuff but when i boot i keep getting a boot failed message with disk error 80, any ideas on what im doing wrong?

I wonder if it's a bad disk?

What software did you use to burn the .iso? Just in case it is that, you could try burning it again (I'd recommend using the slowest possible burning speed!)

ive tried burning it at a lower speed but i still keep getting the same error, i wonder if the program im using for burning the disk is bad, im using active iso burner.

I'm sorry to hear that this isn't working.
In Windows I usually use DVDDecrypter to burn ,iso images. It's a good burner.

Maybe you ought to download the iso again.

I am trying to install my older printer using the full version of hplip-3.12.6 , downloaded from HP's Linux Open Source Printing repository - because I know this library has my driver in it, my printer was listed when installed on my other Slacko Puppy distro and the printer is working in my Slacko..but I'm trying to setup Racy 5.3 to leverage more available RAM since my laptop has 4 Gb.

Hplilp installation scripts are written in Python, so I try to install Python 2.6 then during "sh hplilip-3.12.6.run" I get a segmentation fault when executed as root, and permission denied when executed as user. I did chmod a+x, still not working, so I'm curious if there's something going on with Python?

Any ideas? Thank you!!!

RacyPy 3 already has a version of Python2 (I think it is Python 2,7).

I don't know what is causing the seg fault.
Have you had a look in System - Bootmanage - Choose which services ...
I "may" have disabled CUPS by default!
let us know what happens. I have very little experience of printing I'm afraid.

I've uploaded a new version of RacyPy.

The main changes are the addition of:

mupdf-1.1
mit_scheme
scala

The desktop is managed by Rox and Openbox.
Python version 3.1.5 (the update for 3.1.4).

It looks very promising for programming purposes and to learn programming.

Do I understand correctly it is equiped for java programming?
Should I load the devx.sfs all the time if I want to program? And is it the regular devx_wary_5.3.sfs from wary5.3 I need or is there another one?
Has there been made a salukipy, by the way?

I made a few projects in Scratch1.4.
Looks allright except for the instruments. All instruments are the same dull sound. I searched around and must have something to do with MIDI. But I do not know how to fix it. The packages referred to in the previous post do not solve the problem for me. Or should I do something more then just installing the 2 packages, timidity and eawpatches?
I installed Scratch 2 as well. There the instrument do work. But Scratch 2 is quite different from Scratch 1.4.

I also tried 'Hello world' in Python. It works in Python 2.7.2, but not in 3.1.4. (screenshot)
Python 3.1.4 seems not to find Tkinter. I do not understand why.
