How do I change Precord defaults?

#1 Post by jadaro »

How do I change the destination directory in Precord?
I would like to send my recording to a different directory than "root".
Is there a configuration that can be edited?

Type the directory you wish to save to in the second box under Record

using the directory browser button doesn't work very as it expects a file - which you are yet to record.

/mnt/home is the root directory of drive you booted from and is outside pup save file

I tried posting target directory in second box - did not work

My target = /root/my-documents/music/

Am I supposed to download something then make changes?

I've tried changing the destination directory too, and couldn't make it stick either. (Racy Puppy 5.2.1.90)

I often find audio books on tape for real cheap, like, a dollar or even several books for a dollar. I have a pretty good tape player with which I could use Precord to make mp3 files of books on tape, so I can listen to them on my mp3 player at work. 32 kbps mono is perfectly acceptable quality for that. I've only tried once so far, but I wasn't able to get Precord set up to do the job.

Did you include a filename in the target second box?

just tried
target= /root/my-documents/music/hello.mp3

I left the third box blank

and it works - it created a new file

I'm using Puppy 5.29 with Precord (version 7.0.1) from LazY Pup's audio SFS

I did get the destination directory solved.
The directories are case sensitive - put a "cap" on Music and all is ok.

Is it possible to get the number stamped files redirected?

I should have said date stamped files and not number stamped.

I can redirect the file which is recorded with the top red record button as we have discussed before.

The file saved by pressing the bottom red record button "RECORD DateStamped File" is the file I would like to redirect. Is there a way to do this?
