Connecting to wireless broadband with PPPoE

#1 Post by mcalex »

Has anyone had any experience with this? I have a wireless broadband connection with an ethernet cable connected to the wireless antenna. I understand that the long term solution will probably involve a dedicated router, but am looking for some ideas I can play with in the meantime.

I have had a go with both the Ethernet and Wireless wizards in puppy. The ethernet wizard looked more promising (as I don't have a WiFi card in the 'puter I couldn't go too far with the Wireless wiz). The ethernet wizard seemed to show all things working, and I tried to use the static IP option (I'm not sure if this is correct, but every time I've connected on winXP, I've had the same IP), then the DHCP option, but neither resulted in a successful connection.

My NIC is a CNet PRO200WL 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet adapter, if that helps.

Thanks for any help.

PS: Very cool Linux distro. 8)
