I first came across these QR-codes - that is the red box thing
when they were first starting and before I had an Android phone
Getting it to scan and identify took me about two hours . . .
I seem to remember having to takes its pic and having to run through
some kind of experimental parser

Now the smartphone and these codes are everywhere (so I am told)
How it works. You need a barcode scanner app on your smartphone
or tablet. You run the app. hold up the camera to the poster, sticker,
screen display etc and your phone browser loads the URL

I was inspired by someone doing a QR-code http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code for Raspberry Pi
(the well known motherboard of myth and legend)
Should have added a simple url puppylinux.com on the advert sorry about that . . .
I also did it in red to see if it works - It does on my phone
also the ad does not go to puppylinux.com - it is a Puppy site - that is just a little added interest . . .

It's a kind of magic

I saw something recently which pointed out that there is a fairly severe potential security problem with QR codes. That's all I can remember about it.
