Subject description: Ttuuxxxx opens up Seamonkey - what fun we shall have!!!

I'm getting addicted to using a mouse (on XP) that scrolls by placing an anchor on the screen (a wheel click) and then moving the cursor away from it to scroll. Scroll direction and speed are controlled according to distance/direction from the anchor. No need to use the wheel or sidebar. Especially useful on non linear pages with links all over the place. You can go back and forth quickly without aggravating carpal tunnel problems. Very nice feature.

Being a noob, I'd need detailed help in the process. I'm using various Puppies 421, 511, 531, 528 but am hoping to settle on one if I can get everything working properly.

Thanks in advance.

Well I had a look for you, its basically a browser addon, So far I've found a plugin for google chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/llbmoignpgmahlngjhegfcklpabfgend
so if you install google chrome you could have that feature request with that addon.

you can also turn on autoscroll on Seamonkey/firefox by typing in the url bar about:config then set general.autoScroll to true and restart your browser . then what you do is middle click and drag the mouse anywhere on the screen while holding the middle button and it will scroll up or down.

Thanks very much ttuuxxx
I just tried the Seamonkey system. Really cool.

Given that long list of settings there's probably even a function in there to achieve the same function as the window's auto scroll where you don't have to keep holding the wheel down.

Also for some reason, after an activation, the page wants to go to 'Chrome Web Store - teleprompter' at this address

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/llbmoignpgmahlngjhegfcklpabfgend#detail/llbmoigtrynpgmahlngjhegfcklpabfgend

next time it went to try.com

Then it worked properly without going anywhere a few times. Maybe it's time related. Longer movements are ok but short movements activate some other function? When I got out of editing this message, the time relation lessened but it tried to bring up a non existent url a few times, sort of randomly.

Hmmm. Any ideas?

[edit: Not sure but on my older machine with an older seamonkey 2.0.11 (as set up by tux/ suggested by greengeek on his bookmark post) there was perfect action and no navigation to odd urls. Note however that on this SM, alt-mousewheel click does navigate to past or other pages. ]

Well, thanks a million anyway. If that's the way it works, I can live with it, just a little quirky, nothing serious.

Thanks again.

Puppy barks.

[edit. ttuuxxx opened up a fascinating toolbox to control SM. There is a fearsome warning about doing this so be careful. Have fun. Post your thoughts below as to what you have played with successfully. There are two pages of settings just for mouse control alone! ]
