hi gnuxo

you'll need to install your graphic drivers to get full screen video.

click on slickpet (on the desktop) then the drivers tab, then test. and install what it suggests.

(i've added a note to the first post)

cheers

Hi stu90 and 666philb,

I use the vertical scroll bar as in the screenshot in the first post.

I'm confused - kindly explain when and where "next page" shows.

My regards and thanks for a triple six app.

Addendum:

Thank you both for your posts below.

Hi 666philb and Jasper,

Im using gtk-youtube-viewer 2.0.3 that is pre installed in Exprimo puppy - for some reason the 'Next Page' text does not appear at the bottom it is just a blank but clicking it that area does indeed load more videos. :)

Image

I see from you screen you are on version 2.0.4 i will install that now and report back.

EDIT:
Same thing with version 2.0.4 in Exprimo ?

EDIT2:
what an idiot i am
The 'Next Page' button is indeed there - i just needed to maximize the gtk-youtube-viewer widow for it to be displayed
BTW this is a great application thanks 666philb 8)

cheers.

Is there a chance to get it internationalized?

Thanks 666philb. This works really great in Slacko. Is there a way to pause the play? I can't seem to find one.

Hi Flash,
Videos are played with Mplayer as default - there are a few different ways you can pause/resume - right click mouse button. space bar. or the 'p' key.

You can get a list of basic/common Mplayer key commands by typing in the terminal: mplayer --help

cheers.

Another cool thing is you can use gtk-youtube-viewer from the command line with out the GUI. :)
/usr/share/gtk-youtube-viewer/youtube-viewer -h

hi vicmz, i think internationalization coulb be carried out by people from there respective countries editing the perl scripts in /usr/share/gtk-youtube-viewer

maybe a project for you :)

Hi 666philb

Using lucid version on old P3 800MHz machine. You tube video normally jerky when played through my browser. Plays very smoothly using your pet. Found that I had to set the resolution at a lower level to get videos to play. Can still play them fullscreen without pixelation. I also found right-clicking a video on the list gives the option to download the video. Have tried this and it works well. I find this very useful. Thanks for this pet.

Regards,

Ken.

Could you make a version for Precise? I tried the lucid version in precise and it failed with this error:

perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/auto/Glib/Glib.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Gthr_key_ptr

Works great in Lucid though.

Thanks !!

Hi

Just loaded gtk-youtube-viewer onto slacko 5.3.3

Under "File -> Login to Youtube"
I get the following error message:
Can't locate URI/_foreign.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.12.3/i486-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.12.3 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.12.3/i486-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.12.3 /usr/lib/perl5/5.12.3/i486-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.12.3 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.12.3/URI.pm line 60.

The module URI::_foreign is required!

To install the module, just type in terminal:
sudo cpan URI::_foreign
I've tried the suggested cpan command in a terminal but slacko says it is unknown.

Grateful for any suggestions as gtk-youtube-viewer looks like a nice application....

Thanks

hi peebee

yeah the slacko version doesn;t log in,i had troubles with the slacko version. but maybe installing that module may make it work.

to install the module you'll first need to install the devx. the command should then work. (i would back up first!)

let me know if it fixes it, and i'll make a new pet

Hi 666philb

Tried your suggestion (many thanks) - it changed the error message but still doesn't seem to work:
Unable to login: LWP will support https URLs if the LWP::Protocol::https module is installed.
Should I try one of the other puppies - which is likely to work the best??

Thanks
