suspend to ram (S3) lost after installing fluxbox

I wanted to try more eye candy and installed fluxbox and did the
puppy menu port. I also had visited the screen-saver setup with ACPI features.

unfortunately I lost the suspend-2-ram option in the shutdown menu.

I'm lost as to where to begin to recover suspend-to-ram function.
btw, it's more than the menu item, prior to this the power button performed S3 entry/exit just fine...

any pointers?
