A few questions about LuPu 5.28

Hi all

1) Can anyone tell me what are the differences between LuPu-528 and LuPu-528-004 ?

2) Can I use lupu_devx_528-4.sfs with LuPu-528 or only LuPu-528-004 ?

3) Where should lupu_devx_528-4.sfs be saved?

4) What does Instant_Update-Lucid528-004.pet do?

5) Anyone managed to get the ALC888 sound chip working with 528 or 528-004?

5.28 - 004 is just the forth update to 5.28, see the above thread

Instant-5.28-004-update brings an older version on 5.28 up to date

2) lupu_devx_528-4.sfs is for 5.28-4 you could use it with 5.28 but 5.28 has its own devx (btw there is no reason not to update


3) devx.sfs files go into your /mnt/home directory, and possibly okay in a pupdir. sfs-load will then pick up (frugal). See further instructions for full installation.

Any one know how to get rid of Alsa 1.0.24 in Luid5.28 and install an older
version of Alsa?

Version 1.0.24 is pretty crummy (hardly works with any sound cards) whilst
version 1.0.20 from Puppy4.31 is much better.
