Applications to rejoin the Commonwealth and the EU would be received sympathetically. But there would be reparations....

I'm under the possibly mistaken impression that the EU's Intellectual Property laws are not much better thought out.

Return? NEVER! I refuse to call my cookies by any other name! If anything, I'd form my own country. Maybe start my own space colony or something. I'll let the rest of the world have Earth, and I'll take the moon. Name: Blitzquesoverde. National food: cheese. National OS: Cosmo (a puplet of Puppy v15.3.5). Motto: "To infinity, and beyond!" Anthem: Tubthumping. Flag: Re-disign of my flaming turtle wearing sunglasses picture.

Meanwhile, I'll have to start training myself in non-lethal combat, because my pencil, paper, paper clips, and jumpdrive could all be used to circumvent copyright protection and I refuse to let the government "impound" my school supplies. Don't want to hurt the poor fools, though. They obviously have some kind of mental disorder.

My God, Whats this world coming to??

The 24-page bill is a far-reaching medley of different proposals cobbled together. One would, for instance, create a new federal crime of just trying to commit copyright infringement. Such willful attempts at piracy, even if they fail, could be punished by up to 10 years in prison.

If you ask me, it's the same issue I have with school rules. I could kill somebody with my shoelace, pencil, textbook, or fist, but they aren't banned. I'm sure there are plenty of gangs that wore denim, but we are allowed to wear jeans. The garb of those who die defending our country is banned.

I can violate copyright laws with my hands, eyes, ears, and mouth. Even with my mind. Should I be given a lobotomy because I could potentially break a law?

Rather than persecuting people who could commit petty crimes, why don't they start spending their time getting the people who do break the laws? A car can speed, so should I be fined for owning a car that I might speed with in the future? They'd better start arresting everyone (including themselves) because we all have the potential to assasinate them (and now we have motive: If we will be persecuted for what we didn't do, we now have no incentive to not do it. Their idiocy, however, is motivation too do it.)
