Bugs?

Barry, which forum do you want us to use to report bugs? I have one to report.
How about one named "Bugs"?
What I mean is , instead of reports scattered all over ,like in "user", Misc." and others, just start one named Bugs. Then each one can be discussed and the fix can be with the original problem.
I know I am not making this clear, but this would keep them all in one place.

John Murga is thinking of setting up a special bug-reporting facility.

You're right; bug reports, complaints, cries for help, are showing up all over the forum, perhaps because it is not obvious where to put them. I believe John Murga is already working on a remedy. See this thread in the forum.

Not everyone seeking to file a complaint will know enough to make a useful bug report. For what it's worth, my suggestion is to add a main forum heading titled something like "Complaints (Bad Puppy,)" to catch the eye, which would have subtopics such as "Bug reports" and "Won't boot" inside it. "Bug reports" would contain still more specific subtopics, though I can't say what they would turn out to be.

Just a suggestion though. I'm sure that whatever John comes up with will be a great leap forward.

Hey

I was going to set up Mantis :

http://www.mantisbt.org/

But I am also open to anything, including adding a bugs forum.

However, it probably won't be until Friday night at the earliest ...

I am going to be out of town for the next couple of days.

Cheers

Flash said it better than I did. New Heading and then Sub-heading with topics inside where we can report problems. Then when Barry or any of the other guys decide on a solution, just enter a new topic under the sub-heading named Solution. Then we will see 1. the problem, 2. discussion, and 3. solution. Then 4. discussion of the solution if it doesn't work on someone's machine. Maybe it would keep some of the bug discussions out of the other forum headings.

Your wish is my command ...

Done ;-)

Note the subtle differences in the board.
