Hi. I have recently managed (with help from this forum) to resurrect an old Thinkpad T22 and I'd love to be able to somehow use it for the kids to watch movies on. (We used to do this back when it was a W2K machine and the desktop was XP, so I think the hardware can do it.)
My Ubuntu 10.04 desktop at the moment is set up as a DLNA server (mediatomb) and I have a little media player attached to the telly and that works very well.
Is there a way I can access that same mediatomb server from the Lucid Puppy (5.2.8 ) laptop? Or is there a better way? (I've been fiddling with samba and I think ultimately it's not right for what I want).
Easy media streaming over home network?
