What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

THRM -123 C on AOpen Celeron CPU [not solveable]

#1 Post by nooby »

Edit this seems to be some error of the user or whatever.
Nothing I do makes it possible to read it.
Could be some setting in BIOS or AOpen maybe made it that way?
None else on internet seems to care about AOpen so should
maybe ask on their forum if such exists

That is dangerous is it not. How can that be so high?
What to do?

Name of Aopen Motherboard is MZ 915 or similar name.
Uses Intel 915 chips

How can I test temp in winXP

Fatal if true. Therefore likely to be a false reading. I have sent you a PM with a means of checking in XP.

Thanks I will test it tomorrow.
I have a hard time to believe
it really is 123C it would smell burning circuit board?
Or I would feel the heat from the CPU Fan?

So it is very odd.

I moved the extracted files over to the winxp machine and
double clicked the exe an now many many minutes later
the whole computer is still locked up.
Obviously one need to be Admin

That booted it instead of locking it up but

It only show temperature of HD and not CPU
So something about the BIOS or Motherboard
makes it impossible to read the THRM

Thanks for wanting to help me. I have to trust that
it is a low temp due to it would smell or blow hot air
from fan if it where more hot than 50 C It seems way
lower than that. Which surprises me.
My Celeron CPU runs at 1600 MHz something so
that would make it hot?
