Puppy can't see USB keyboard

#1 Post by infromthepound »

I am not sure if this is the right area to ask, but am unsure where else to go.
I got requested to fix an elderly friend's computer when she had trouble getting her emails.
I took Macpup 528 and lazy (And Wary, which turned out to be cracked when I got there) She has a USB keyboard, and neither puppy would see it as being present although 'dose would.
It may be that keyboard as I have never had problems. but has anyone else had similar results?

What do you mean by "cracked"?

If Windows sees the keyboard, then it's probably OK, function-wise.
Maybe those Puppy derivatives don't have all the necessary USB keyboard drivers.
Or maybe it's an oddball USB keyboard that no Puppy has drivers for.

I've tried a Gateway USB keyboard, but only with 4.3.1; it worked fine.

Cracked like being sat on when I got into the car
I must admit I have never had any problems before with keyboards, I will try again and take mine next time I go. Both puppys were 528 derivatives, I will burn and try another Wary next time
